| About the Mil Mi 26 CD |
|
This disc contains information on the massive Mil helicopter not available elsewhere. Only on my CD, in logical English, can you find the manner in which the five man crew avoid damaging or destroying the huge chopper and themselves. How they manage the available 24,000 hp (17,890 kw), which could rip the machine to pieces in seconds, is revealed on my CD. The strict operating requirements included are astounding, as is the machine.
In addition, the following items/particulars are shown: Detailed photographs of the cockpit (with descriptive captions), illustrating the pilots, engineer and radio operator/navigator instrument panels. The loadmaster's domain, the cargo or passenger hold (capable of seating over 76 or flying 150+ people in emergencies), is illustrated. Also, the loading winches and some of the vehicles flown, such as a normal road grader are depicted. Engines and other huge, normally hidden components are also revealed.
A payload versus range and temperature chart, plus other usefull and technical information further informs you about this brutish but sleek machine, which needs over 40 metres (130 ft) of clear space to turn its rotors. The PDF file of illustrations and graphs included, allows detailed examination of the aircraft.
The author's background and information about his published autobiography, (which includes introducing the Mil to S.E. Asia and operating it), round off the picture of this truly unique helicopter.
